Welcoming Wolves Back to California
Imagine someday hearing wolves howl at night in California's wilderness! This is a critical time for wolves, and here at the California Wolf Center we have dramatically have increased our efforts towards paving the way for wolves to reenter our state.
The recent proposal to delist gray wolves from the federal Endangered Species Act threatens the ability of wolves across most of the country to reclaim their native habitat. At the same time, California has positioned itself as a leader in wolf recovery by providing gray wolves with protections under the state Endangered Species Act. It is now up to Californians to ensure a brighter future for wolves in our state. Together we can make it happen! Donate now to join us in this important mission!
A new pack of wolves is denning in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest of Oregon, in a stretch of habitat shared with California. Experts are now saying that California will be the next state which natural wolf repopulation takes place. This is an incredible but critical time in wolf recovery. California Wolf Center has hired new staff based out of the San Francisco bay area to more directly engage with stakeholders, wolf policy decisions, and State wolf management planning. They are also increasing education and outreach efforts in the bay area and Northern counties, where wolves will first return. This is essential work, but we cannot do it without your support. Donate here to help ensure that wolves are welcomed back to their native California habitat.
We owe wolves a brighter future here in California, and as the only wolf center in California solely dedicated to wolf recovery in the wild, your support will directly help us achieve that mission. Donate here to support this important work.
